I just finished reading your entire blog and thought that I was going to short circuit my laptop with all the tears. My heart breaks for your loss and it also jumps for joy at your love for animals. I visit my sister in Georgetown on a regular basis and wish that I could have met you. I too am an animal lover and have been especially close to animals all of my life. I completely understand the pure pleasure of being around animals. I ran across your blog while doing a project on animal rehabilitation and sat and read every entry. I hope all of your 4-legged babies are doing well and I hope to read more of your blogs soon. I noticed that there haven't been any since September. I pray that all is well with Basil and Emma. God bless you and your kindness. I wish there were more people in this world with hearts filled with love for animals just like you.

erm, fajita. There is something very wrong with being pro PETA and the PETA movement.

This movie isn't for the spouses or otherwise significant others of those that volunteer or work at their local shelters.

If not for my wife, I probably wouldn't know much about shelter life or the animal rights movement (from the humane society perspective). But, I have learned a lot by proxy and definitely came away from the movie with the notion that it was very pro PETA.

Not that there is anything wrong with a movie being pro PETA or the PETA movement.

But the trailers seemed to pitch a much more comedic movie about a woman who loved dogs and somehow ends up doing some shelter stuff.
